For the 2nd edition of „Diggin w/„ we asked dortmund-based DJ and promoter NIKSN to tell us about his current most played songs. With roots in Germany’s Reggae & Dancehall scene, DJ NIKSN has meanwhile made himself a name as an open format DJ. He is specialized in creative and experimental transitions far beyond genre boundaries. Besides many parties he promoted and played, he already played sets at Juicy Beats Festival and took the great opportunity to do a guestmix for Germany's famous Radiostation WDR Cosmo. Murs is a living legend, you can listen to his fresh freestyles for many years on twitch now. In combination with Slug they are both signed at the Rhymesayers Label and keep producing Sounds like „Sticks & Stones“. I found this track during my set preparation for the Manic Monday Stream at WolfTV and this one has been on heavy rotation ever since.
Collie Buddz - Hold Firm
My favorite Track of 2020 by the No.1 Producer himself! This one is still on heavy rotation and gives me always an instant good vibe at a good party. It’s not surprising, that Germany’s Riddim Magazine Community voted this instrumental as best Reggae Riddim of 2020.
Sampa The Great - Energy
Sampa The Great is in my opinion one of the best female Artists right now. This track spreads such a mystic but at the same time positive atmosphere. Combined with a harmonic musical arrangement and great lyrics. I listen to this tune mostly during a walk or while exercising. Check Sampa!
Troyboi - Bellz
Besides Hip Hop, Neosoul & Future Beats, I really love bassy drops and Breakbeats à la Troyboi! Mostly in combination of well-known Acapellas in a live edit style. This Track has such a great vibe! I also heard that Troyboi’s shows are absolutely amazing. First thing to check out, after corona.
Miles Medina - Limonada
This one is my current favorite Edit. Besides many producers from Belgium and the Netherlands, you can’t forget the Americans. There are many creative productions by the Goldie Awards Winner. I love to play with Edits like these, to loop them or trying to blend completely different acapellas into it. Limonada is already my Summer Tune of 2021!
